Like many people from New Zealand, I am an expat living in the USA. I have lived in Sydney, London, Singapore and now San Francisco.
Consequently, it has always been a challenge getting up to date information on exchange rates and how to transfer money between countries.
In 2006, I began dealing with HiFX and subsequently their online Currency Online. In fact, we liked working with Currency Online so much I decided to build a website to keep myself up to date with currency exchange rate changes. At dollarexchange.co.nz, we strived to create an interface which contains information about what influences foreign exchange rates - which is why we have included the time, weather, local news and other factors we believe influence the Australian dollar exchange rate compared to other currencies.
Our mission is to expose the factors that affect the dollar exchange rates around the world. The NZ dollar exchange rate has fluctuated massively in recent years.
Understanding foreign exchange rate fluctuations and what factors are causing them is increasingly becoming important - especially for those Kiwis who travel! Determining when to travel can save thousands of dollars based on the New Zealand exchange rate.
